About OSPAPPH

OSPAPPH aims to be the unified voice representing public health practitioners with the mandate of promoting physical activity in their respective communities. This organization builds on the strengths of an established infrastructure and mandate within the public health system, as well as the partnerships formed at the community, provincial and national levels with the ultimate purpose of increasing physical activity levels in Ontario.

What We Do

OSPAPPH members are public health units and their practitioners with the mandate of promoting physical activity in their respective communities. This can include, but is not limited to, Health Promoters, Public Health Nurses, Physical Activity Specialists, Health Educators, and Health Promotion Consultants.

The OSPAPPH Executive act on behalf of the Society in conducting the business of the organization including implementing its strategic plan. The current executive has two co-chairs, a treasurer and five directors.

On behalf of its members, the OSPAPPH Executive and Working Groups advocate and respond to emerging public health issues to ensure appropriate physical activity representation from a public health perspective.
